Here's a tip: don't buy a Mac a few days before MacWorld. It's like buying a gallon of milk that'll expire tomorrow.

Just to be constructive, I'll recommend a Basecamp widget, Backpack, which you can get here: http://chipt.com/

Oh, and don't forget add http://daringfireball.net to your RSS reader and http://daringfireball.net/linked/ to your browser bookmarks bar. It's best Mac-related writing ever.

Are you still use Firefox? I love it on Windows, but can't use it on Mac OS X because of 1) ugly fonts, 2) slowness, 3) not native UI. You can try Camino (based on Gecko), Safari + add-ons (www.pimpmysafari.com), or OmniWeb (http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniweb/). I purchased the last one and really happy with it. Anyway, I'm still looking forward Firefox 3 - it will have fixed fonts and native UI.

Also, you need try Pyro for our daily meetings in Campfire. Yojimbo for information organization - it's my favorite piece of software. NetNewsWire for RSS - after several years on web-apps for RSS I'm really happy with NetNewsWire and NewsGator (read about services they offer - you can still use web version when you not at you desk).
